Short actions like the WSM work, but their short necks and shallow shoulders limit how hard you can push modern high-BC bullets. You’re stuck with compromised case support, excessive body taper, and brass that doesn’t last when you run it at the pressures these cartridges are capable of.
Sherman Max brass is derived from 7 SAUM and built with the efficient, low-taper, 40-degree shoulder design that defines Sherman cartridges. Top-quality ADG head-stamped brass now available fully-formed with 40-degree shoulders, eliminating most prep work. Available in 6.5mm, 7mm, .300, and .338, with specific neck sizing depending on caliber (see product details).
The Max series offers more case capacity than standard short actions, with better bullet support and brass life when running at max pressure. Part of the Sherman matched system, with dies, reamers, and load data designed to work together. No adapting WSM dies or guessing at chamber specs.
The result is a short action cartridge that handles heavy, high-BC bullets at velocities that rival some long action cartridges, with brass that lasts and performance that’s repeatable across temperature swings and hard use.
Note: Fully-formed 40-degree brass now available. Neck sizing may still be required depending on caliber.
