A go-gauge tells you the minimum headspace dimension. A no-go gauge tells you the maximum. If your bolt closes on a no-go gauge, your chamber is cut too deep. That means brass will stretch excessively on firing, leading to case head separation, inconsistent pressure, and shortened brass life. It’s a safety and reliability issue you can’t fix after the chamber is cut.

The Sherman no-go gauge gives you the dimensional check you need during chambering to confirm you haven’t gone too far. After your bolt closes correctly on the go-gauge, check it with the no-go. The bolt should not close, or should close with significant resistance. If it closes easily, your headspace is excessive and needs correction before you fire the rifle.

This is especially critical for switch-barrel setups and barrel nut systems where you’re setting headspace yourself. Part of the Sherman matched system, these gauges ensure your chamber dimensions match the brass and performance specs the cartridge was designed around.

The result is a chamber cut to safe, reliable dimensions that supports your brass correctly and eliminates headspace problems before they cost you components or compromise safety.
