Mid-length actions offer a performance sweet spot between short magnums and full-length magnums, but brass options have been limited to adapted WSM cases with compromised shoulders and short necks. You’re fire-forming, trimming, and hoping the brass holds up under pressure. It’s a workaround, not a solution.
Sherman Mega brass is purpose-built for mid-length actions. Think of it as a long WSM that’s been Shermanized: minimal body taper, 40-degree shoulder, and a long neck for better bullet support. Top-quality ADG head-stamped brass available in 7mm and .300, with all brass shipped with a .300 neck for flexibility. Fully-formed 40-degree shoulder brass is now available, eliminating most fire-forming work.
Performance rivals much larger cases in a sub-3.2″ COAL. The 7mm runs 180gr bullets at 3,200 fps and 195s at 3,100 fps. The .300 pushes 215gr bullets at 3,075 fps. The .338 delivers 250gr bullets at 2,950 fps. All from a case that fits mid-length actions and uses less powder than traditional long action magnums, with reduced recoil and barrel wear.
Brass, dies, and reamers are part of the Sherman matched system, designed together and kept in stock. No scavenger hunts. No adapting components meant for other cartridges.
The result is magnum-class ballistics in a more efficient, easier-to-manage package that performs at distance without punishing the shooter or burning out barrels prematurely.
Caution: Firing full-pressure loads on virgin brass may shorten primer pocket life prematurely.
